Madi Lee is a 24-year-old who moved to the tiny town of Medora, North Dakota, after college. The year-round population of Medora is less than 150 but the town explodes with tourists in summer. Medora, North Dakota, has always been one of my favorite places. It's a unique place, located in the North Dakota Badlands at the entrance of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Madi Lee loves working the Medora Musical in the summer and enjoys the remote nature of North Dakota in the winter.

And it appeared that he would also not qualify for the fourth debate, which is being held Wednesday in Alabama. Here in Medora, a tiny town in the badlands of western North Dakota, Teddy Roosevelt is everywhere. The cabin from his Maltese Cross Ranch sits at the gateway of the 70,447-acre Theodore Roosevelt National Park. The Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library, set to open on July 4, 2026, will pay tribute to the 26th president’s “relentless, resilient spirit” and environmental vision. Mention it, and you tend to get a puzzled look and two questions: Doesn’t Roosevelt, who served from 1901 to 1909, already have a presidential library? And why the heck is this one being built in North Dakota?

CNN —A Minnesota woman was severely injured by a bison in Theodore Roosevelt National Park in Medora, North Dakota, according to the National Park Service. A bison gored a 47-year-old Arizona woman Monday morning in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. In the wake of the two incidents involving national park guests within days of each other, the National Park Service has issued a warning that bison can be easily agitated during mating season. Use extra caution and give them additional space during this time,” the park service said. “Approaching bison threatens them, and they may respond by bluff charging, head bobbing, pawing, bellowing, or snorting,” according to the park service.
